Head Athletic Trainer
Roy Rudewick, a 16-year veteran at Arlington Bowie High School, has been named the head athletics trainer at UT Arlington on Aug. 1.
Rudewick will be the primary contact for men's basketball, but will oversee the entire department and its student-athletes.
Rudewick is a 1989 graduate of UT Arlington with a bachelor of arts degree in physical education. A certified and licensed athletic trainer, Rudewick received his master's of education degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1990.
Prior to Arlington Bowie, he was the head athletic trainer at Carrollton R.L. Turner High School from 1990-91.
He also served a trainer at the 1994 World Cup Soccer Tournament in Dallas. He served as an intern athletic trainer with the Houston Oilers Football Club from 1989-90.
Rudewick served as the president of the North Texas Athletic Trainer Society from 2002-04 and has been a clinical instructor of the National Athletic Trainers' Association B.O.C. He has served as a master assessor for the University Interscholastic League's (UIL) Wrestling Weight Certification Program and was the Dallas-Fort Worth Regional Coordinator. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Southwest Athletic Trainers' Association, Texas State Athletic Trainers' Association, North Texas Athletic Trainer Society and the Texas Society of Sports Medicine.
Gina Giammanco, MS, ATC, LAT
Assistant Athletic Trainer
Gina is beginning her third year at UTA, and will be covering the volleyball and softball teams. Gina received her BS in Physical Education from the University of Louisiana - Monroe in 2003, and she received her MS in Exercise Science in 2004. As a graduate assistant athletic trainer, Gina worked with women's volleyball, men's and women's swimming and diving, football, softball, and baseball. Some of the other events Gina has covered include the SunBelt Conference Swimming and Diving Championships, NCAA Diving Zone Championships, AAU Girls National Basketball tournament, and the Louisiana High School State Rodeo Championships.
Julie Homuth, MS, ATC, LAT
Assistant Athletic Trainer
Julie is beginning her second year at UTA and will be covering the women's basketball team. Julie comes to UTA after having received her Masters of Science degree in Kinesiolgy - Athletic Training from Michigan State University. As a graduate assistant at MSU, Julie worked with their women's soccer and softball teams.
Megan Gorman, ATC, LAT

Megan is beginning her second year at UTA and will be covering the men's and women's track and field teams.
Steven Siracusa, ATC, LAT
Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer
Steven is beginning his first year at UTA and will be covering the baseball team.
Louise Fincher, EdD, ATC, LAT
Athletic Training Program Director
Dr. Fincher is now in her sixth year at UTA as the Program Director for the Athletic Training Education Program. Prior to joining the UTA staff, Lou was the President and CEO of the Joe W. King Orthopedic Institute in Houston, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University, her Masters of Science in Physical Education from Indiana State University and her Doctor of Education in Human Performance Studies from the University of Alabama. Lou has over 17 years of experience in the athletic training profession including positions at Euless Trinity High School( 1983-87), Alief Hastings High School( 1988-90), Indiana State University( 1990-91), McLean Orthopedics, PA( 1991-92), The University of Alabama( 1992-95) and the Joe W. King Orthopedic Institute( 1995-2000). She has published numerous articles related to athletic training and given over 20 national, regional, or district presentations. She is also very active in the athletic training profession through a variety of service work involving the National Athletic Trainers Association( NATA), the NATA Foundation, the Southwest Athletic Trainers Association, and the Texas Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers.
Cindy Trowbridge, PhD, ATC, CSCS, LAT
Athletic Training Clinical Coordinator
Dr. Trowbridge is now in her second year at UTA as the Clinical Coordinator for the Athletic Training Education Program. She recieved her Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology from University of Colorado at Boulder, her Masters of Science in Physical Education/Athletic Training from Indiana State University, and her Doctor of Philosophy in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation from Brigham Young University. Prior to coming to UTA, Cindy was an assistant clinical professor and athletic trainer at Ithica College in Ithica, NY. She has 12 years of experience in the athletic training profession and has traveled internationally with Women's Bobsled, Men's and Women's Skeleton, Men's and Women's Speed Skating, and Figure Skating. She served as one of the USA athletic trainers for the World University Games in Piancavallo, Italy in January 2003. Her research interests include prevention of athletic injuries, neuromuscular components of rehabilitation, and the efficacy of modalities in the treatment of injury. She is currently the chair of the written exam development committee for the Board of Certification and is involved with the NATA Foundation, the Southwest Athletic Trainer's Assocation, and the Texas Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers. She also serves the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a member of their Education Council.
